Taekwondo is viewed by many as a goal setting or self-improvement program.  Participants develop mental strength while learning effective methods of combat.  Each martial art has established its own self-concept and strengths.  The combination of physical strength and mental training justifies the existence of martial arts in today’s society.  This is the reason why the official ATA definition of Songahm Taekwondo is, “a martial art that trains people physically and mentally.”

The ATA Taekwondo programs for adults provide vigorous cardiovascular and strength training workouts combined into a single, high energy class.  Multiple class times allow adult students the flexibility they need to attend a recommended 2 classes per week.

Beginning as a white belt in our adult program, those new to martial arts, or who have not been involved in exercise programs for a while can begin to acquire the stamina and flexibility that they will improve and maintain throughout their Taekwondo experience.

Some of our students come to get in shape and end up learning self-defense, while others come to learn self-defense and end up getting in shape.

This program is specifically designed to teach students the Taekwondo in a fun and structured way.
